Yangon Public Transport System (YPS)

Yangon Public Transport System (YPS)

Project Introduction: Launched in January 2024, all buses under the Yangon Public Transport System (YPS) are equipped with electronic payment systems. The ultimate goal is to establish a cashless ecosystem to help Myanmar improve people's living standards and enhance the business environment. In the future, various personalized payment cards will be launched to meet the daily needs of the public. This card can not only be used for card swiping and boarding, but also for use in restaurants, shopping centers, water buses, and trains. At present, there are about 6000 public transportation vehicles and over 100 public transportation routes in Yangon

City/Country:Yangon/Myanmar

Methods and techniques used:
Adopting web B/S, J2EE architecture, loosely coupled construction, each system is independent of each other, and the backend uses MySQL database.

The complexity and characteristics of the project:
There are many types of public transportation products, and the future can expand into a wide range of payment fields.

Technical transition and reference contact information:
We plan to refactor the system in 2029, and use GO to redevelop the logic layer components in the backend to further enhance data concurrency processing capabilities.. Promote YPS's electronic payment methods to more consumer sectors
